Moodboard: 2023

Every year I always have the same discussion with friends and family about what our New Year resolutions will be, just as everyone else does I'm guessing.
For me 2022 consisted of two career changes, six holidays and a near death experience. So you could say its was quite up and down. Yet I still think its been very productive and is ending on a real high. With that in mind I wanted to create a moodboard of some aspirations for the next twelve months.
I'm hoping the visual representation will spark joy (Marie Kondo style) and help guide me through the year and set a good tone for 2023! I thought by sharing my thoughts I'd hold myself accountable and stick to some resolutions I'd like to work on.

Breaking down the moodboard, a theme throughout is mental health and wellbeing. Taking care of myself has become more and more important to me over time and having a great work life balance is where I feel happiest. This year a quote I've regaled over and over is 'You can't pour from an empty cup.' In 2022, I began learning about meditation and breath exercising and would like to implement them to my weekly routine if not daily. I usually schedule my days around my work calendar so setting aside 5 minutes each day there would help...or so I'm hoping. I also subscribe to Calm so actually utilizing the notifications in the app would be an idea too. I've also lost 13kg this year and feel so much more confident now. I'd like to maintain the healthy diet and exercise regime. I do enjoy the gym a lot but would like to do more social fitness related activities. During the lockdown I used to hike weekly and really enjoyed being out in nature so starting up a walking group with friends again might be a good idea. I also tried hot yoga too which was such a great experience. It's more strenuous than you would think but afterwards my muscles felt so soothed.
The best selling author sticker is a very high hope but in 2022 I started to write a fictional book. Currently I'm ten chapters in and have been there for a few months now so I think I have writer's block perhaps. I definitely need to push through the hardship there and look into ways of productively writing. I took a trip to Budapest back in September to take some pictures for the book in hopes my motivation would peak but unfortunately that has not been that case. Although I have just signed up to a creative writing course in hopes that sparks some movement. So watch this space...
As you can tell I've also added a lot of images around branding and social media. Personally I'm not on top my own social media but professionally it's certainly an interest. I have such an amazing job in Gamedev and I feel people would be interested to hear my thoughts. Especially around diversity within the industry so sharing my ideas to a larger audience I feel is a natural progression. Representing minorities and women is also a huge passion of mine and being in spaces where I can share my experiences would be truly full filing.
Overall, just having this small visual aid has already drummed up excitement for this year. So give it a go yourself, put your ideas and goals into something you can see everyday and I'm telling you something special will happen ✨️
